IT'S A..........
Today was the big day! David and I are excited to announce that we are expecting a baby girl! As of today she weighs 14 ounces and is 10 1/2 inches long. The doctor assured us she is 98-99% positive of her gender assessment and that she's never been wrong before, so we don't foresee any surprises coming our way come her birth day! And now for a name...which could be a long road ahead, but I suppose we better get it together and agree on something because she'll be here before we know it!

Our Little Night Owl
I know it's been a while since the last post, so here's the latest update. We were supposed to go for the gender sonogram on November 22nd, but I had to reschedule. We are now going this Monday the 28th. I will, of course, post the results of the sonogram as soon as possible, so check back Monday afternoon!
In other baby news, Baby Chacon has been kicking up a storm. I just really started to feel baby's little kicks the past week or so. It's a pretty cool feeling! Baby is definitely more active in the evening hours, must be a little night owl like mommy and daddy. My tummy has gone through a major growth spurt in just the past week or so too! I'll work on getting some pictures up of my growing belly.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving! Love and miss you all!

Our New Addition
Hello friends and family! I'm so glad you decided to check out my blog! I have some exciting news to share and figured this would be the most effective way to keep everyone posted. On August 9th my boyfriend, David, and I learned we are expecting a new little addition to both our families. As of now, I am about 4 months along and the expected due date is my birthday, April 10th. We are both very excited and are anxiously waiting to find out if we will be decorating in pinks or blues!
Regretfully, I am guilty of not maintaining regular contact with many of you. I'm hoping to use this blog as a tool to catch everyone up on what's going on in our lives and to share these memorable moments we are experiencing. I am working on posting some updated pictures and also some sonogram pictures. We go to our gender sonogram on November 22nd, I can hardly stand the wait! Keep checking back for updates :)

Here's the Scoop
I am currently living and working in Abilene, Texas. For those of you out of state, Abilene is 3 hours west of Dallas. Compared to Dallas, a city of 2 million, Abilene is a blip on the radar. It's a town of about 115,000 located smack dab in what I like to call the Bible Belt! Life here is slower paced, perhaps more simple and less pretentious than the Dallas area. It definitely has its charm, but I have to admit I miss my big city!
I moved here in Decmeber of 2010...basically because I had noting better to do! I could not find a teaching job in Dallas, saved some money from an office administration job I was working, and picked up and moved to Abilene where I basically knew 1 person, my best friend from college. A month later I was hired on as a crisis line advocate at Noah Project, where I am still working. We are a non-profit domestic violence shelter. I worked as the crisis line advocate for about 4 months and moved into a victim advocate position around May. I love my job. I work directly with victims of domestic violence who come in for shelter or those who don't necesarrily need safe shelter, but still need someone to talk to and assist them in their decision making. We are a small agency and I work with some of the most amazing people I've ever met.
Along this journey came David. David and I met in early April of this year. He went to high school with my best friend I spoke of earlier, which is how we wound up meeting. We've had a whirlwind of a relationship. We met, fell in love, and moved in together within 2 months...and another 2 months later we found out we are expecting! Almost all of David's family is here, however we are planning on moving to Dallas sometime in the next year after the baby is born. But in the meantime, we have an excellent support system here and lots of eager family members awaiting the new arrival! We are starting to look for a bigger house. We currently live in a 1 bedroom duplex; clearly this will not suffice! Agreeing on a house, and area of town has been a little tricky though! I figure my need to nest and nagging about it will reign over his desires though! Bratty? Yes, perhaps a bit!
In other miscellaneous news, I still have Daisy. For those of you who don't know Daisy, she's my cocker spaniel...who has basically been my first child! I think she already suspects something's up because she definitely seems to be favoring David over me, which is completely unlike her. I got Daisy when she was about 7 weeks old and she just turned 6 in August. Needless to say, I'm a little worried about her transition from being the "only child"! We shall see how this adjustment goes though.
